Is Fifa selling parts of the World Cup to private investors? | World Cup 2026

This week Fifa announced it will form a new subsidiary company to run part of the World Cup and offer a 20% stake to private investors, worth over $4 billion. Talks with a likely buyer of those shares have so far involved Jared Kushner’s brother’s investment firm Thrive Eternal. Al Jazeera’s Mohammad Saleh breaks things down.
